MSc courses are available in:
- Geographic Information Science
- Remote Sensing
- Photogrammetry With Remote Sensing
- Hydrographic Surveying
We offer a range of masters programmes in geomatics and spatial sciences that is without parallel for the variety and level of courses on offer. Some are run by this department, others are offered in collaboration with colleagues in other departments, in the University of London, and in industry.
Levels of Course
All our taught graduate programmes can be studied to Postgraduate Diploma or MSc (Masters) level.
MSc programmes start in late September each year, and all comprise a taught section of the course (lasting until May) after which students carry out an individual project. These projects last from May until the start of September, thus making each MSc a 12 month course. Postgraduate Diploma programmes are as for the MSc, but omit the individual summer project.
For entry to one of our MSc programmes, we are generally looking for a good first degree (at least second class honours) in an environmental or physical science. Typically, our students have studied geography, geology, mathematics, physics, environmental science, land surveying, engineering, topographic science, or archaeology – but this list is not exhaustive, and we would be happy to discuss individual qualifications.
